Susana Muñoz, LPC

Hi, I’m Susana. I’m a first-generation Latina and a mom, and like many of the people I work with, my own healing journey began in motherhood. I became determined not to pass down the pain I carried, and that intention continues to guide the work I do today.I started Luciana Mental Health because I believe therapy can be a powerful space to break cycles, reconnect with yourself, and create the kind of life and relationships you want, not just for the next generation but for you, right now. So many of us move through life feeling burdened by old wounds, expectations, or roles that no longer fit. Therapy offers space to lay some of that down, reconnect with your values, and begin living in a way that feels more true, free, and meaningful.

Walking alongside you

Therapy is a space where you don’t have to carry everything alone. My role is to walk alongside you with compassion and curiosity as you navigate life’s challenges, reconnect with yourself, and move toward healing

The Process

Step One: Reach Out
Start by scheduling a free 15-minute consultation using our contact form. This gives us a chance to connect, briefly talk about what you're needing, and see if we're a good fit.
Step Two: The First Session
In our first session, we'll explore what's bringing you to therapy and what you hope to get out of it. We'll talk about your background, your goals, and begin building a safe, supportive space to do the work.
Step Three: Ongoing Work
Each session is tailored to your needs. I integrate evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, ACT, Brainspotting, and IFS with culturally responsive, trauma-informed care. Together, we’ll unpack patterns, build tools for emotional regulation, and reconnect with your values and sense of self.

Our Story

Luciana Mental Health is named after my grandmother Luciana, whose strength and perseverance laid the foundation for the work I do today. Alongside her, my other grandmother Juana’s nurturing spirit is honored in the flowers of our logo. These blooms represent the vibrant beauty of Mexican culture and the tradition of embroidery, a practice that symbolizes healing as a process of reconnecting, restoring, and honoring every thread of our stories. These incredible women faced countless obstacles yet never stopped carrying their families forward. Because of their sacrifices, I recognize the privilege I now hold, including the freedom to challenge longstanding cultural beliefs such as “feelings are weak,” “you must always put family before yourself,” “asking for help is a sign of failure,” and “you must endure silently.”It is because of their courage that we have moved beyond basic survival, like food, water, and shelter, and now my children will grow up knowing emotional safety is just as vital. Just as each stitch strengthens the fabric, therapy helps weave together the pieces of your life into a whole that feels true, strong, and free.
